Judah is 2 months old today! I had to take him to the Drs for a check up. Judah is now just over 11 lbs and 23 inches long. He's still growing- that's a good thing :) He is in the 50% for both weight and length. Way to be average Judah! Oh, except one thing- his head is in the 70%!!! Judah has a huge head for his size. The Dr said its cuz he has such a big brain. However everyone knows its not the size that matters. I know Judah's going to be a smart cookie big head or not.
They save the worst part til the end. The nurse came back in and gave him 2 shots: one in each leg. His face instantly turned as read as a cranberry and he let out the loudest wail I have heard to date. It broke my heart. I saw him tear up for the first time. Seeing him in so much pain brought tears to my eyes! I felt so bad. I couldn't say anything to comfort him, he doesn't understand english yet! (and Spanish wouldn't work either!) The nurse put a sparkly silver band-aid on one side and a brightly colored Garfield band-aid on the other as he continued to wail.
What was a mama to do? If he was older I would have taken him out for ice cream, but the only treat for a 2 month old is milk. So milk it was... and pretty soon he was calmed and cooing.
Good boy Judah- Way to be strong!

If that is the loudest wail you ever heard, then surely you haven't circumcised Judah. that was awful! I about died over that one. poor boys... What we do to secure a happy future for our kids
ReplyDelete- Bekah
funny thing- our Dr doesn't allow parents to observe the circumcision because too many dads have passed out hit their head and had to have stitches!!!
ReplyDeletelol! Smart Doc! I was horrified at the process. I asked Brent to take the boys (since I thought he'd be more sympathetic), but he chickened out. as it turns out, I was sympathetic enough. It was the most awful thing to go through... twice.
ReplyDeleteShots are likewise, very tragic. Thankfully 4 month shots were a bit more bearable in our household. Hopefully by 4 months Judah will be a bit more beefer. I think extra baby fat helps them recover quicker
